Where do people in Rotonda shop? More specifically around Placida and Gasparilla? Are there any nearby Publix, Walgreens, Targets or is there some driving involved?

There is a Public on 776 (McCall) and 771 (Gasparilla Rd).
A Home Depo has been build just down the street on McCall
There is a Winn Dixie on McCall and
There is a Sweet Bays on Rotonda Road and 775 (Placida rd)

Murdock and the Charlotte County Mall is a 15 - 20 minute drive.

Rotonda is really not that remote.

When I lived on Little Gasparilla we always shopped at the Publix on McCall and 771. I think it's in Merchant's Crossing Shopping Center

Mrs carbon, we are down in rotonda right now on vacation, the winn dixie ast the top of Sunnybrook is pretty good and stocks most things needed. Port Charlotte is about 15 minutes drive. Where abouts is the house ? we may be neighbours sometime.

The house is in the Pine Valley section. Is that near you and the mrs.?

I'm really not familiar with Rotonda, but my husband likes the area because he says it isn't built all up yet. There's a golf course in the backyard. A necessity, as he likes to call it...lol. We may take a drive down there at the weekend for a quick drive by. I've always had the impression that Rotonda is really far south in the boondocks, but from everyones answers that doesn't appear to be true.

pine Valley is nice, it is in the South east section, the furthest off the main 776 but very quiet -great for bike rides etc. We have stayed in tee View before and loved it.there is some work going on -I think they are making another lake.

the home we just agreed on today is in rotonda Lakes, which is 5 minutes drive away so we may be neighbours !!

I'm looking forward to checking out Rotonda at the weekend. And on the plus side we already know friendly people there!

The wife and I just purchased a home, just off S. McCall , and just North of Rotonda, after looking at several homes in Rotonda. We did some intense shopping to fill the new place, a couple weeks ago , and found excellent shopping just 15 to 20 minutes away in Port Charlotte. I'm talking about pretty much, most of the big name stores, are all in the vicinity of the Rte.776 - Rte.41 area, and from Englewood to Port Charlotte You will find any of the stores You mentioned on Rt.776. If you care to hear my opinion, I would skip the Rotonda house, and look just a bit north, in south Englewood. After extensive searching and wearing thin the patience of our realtor, we found just what we were looking for in Englewood. We looked at quite a few there in Rotonda, that had been vacant a while , and I question the idea of buying one of these houses, but to each their own preference.

When we purchased our lot in Englewood (just above Rotonda, North of McCall) we looked in the entire area. We liked Rotonda but it was quite a bit more expensive with higher r/e taxes than it's neighbors. The access to Englewood beach was a bit more out of the way then getting right on McCall, too.

Be sure to check if in a flood zone for the home owners ins. cost.
