I have a smallish move this January. I am moving from a 2 bedroom house in Smithfield (but the spare room is actually just a few things I'll probably not take with me anyway) to a 1 bedroom apartment in Garner.

I've always moved myself, with some friends and a U-Haul, but this time I'm tired and want to hire some help!

If you have moved recently and can recommend a company, I'd be grateful.

Happy Holidays!!

I strongly recommend TROSA. Just used them for a move....extremely professional....and very fast. If you pre-pack your items in boxes (buy at Home depot; very cheap compared to any place else), you can save some money. TROSA charges ~120 (per hour for 2 man hours). $18/hour for every extra person. I got 4 to help with my move. It cost me about 500 (~4 hours), and I wrote a $100 tax-deductible donation to TROSA (the moving guys do not accept tips, food, and not even drinks) .

We haven't used TROSA yet, but everything we have heard is GREAT. Did we see the article in today's N & O? What an excellent organization and who better to employ?
We are planning to move late spring early summer and TROSA will be our only call. Not sure if they are "cheap," but my wife and I will gladly support those who participate in TROSA programs.

Agreed. My folks used TROSA earlier this year for a local move. Great experience.
Since TROSA also runs a store, they'll gladly take any items you wish to donate and give you a receipt for tax purposes.

Interesting, I've never heard of them before. I just called them up for an estimate, someone will call me back tomorrow. Thanks, guys.
