Marry Durham - March 19, 2011, Downtown Durham - Marry Durham | March 19th, 2011

SAVE THE DATE: MARCH 19, 2011

"Join us downtown Saturday, March 19, 2011 for a parade, mass civil union, and a reception to affirm your dedication to sustaining the creative energy pulsing through the Bull City. All you have to do is vow to protect its natural resources, support its local businesses, cherish its diversity, and elect responsible leaders.

Oh, and Say Yes to Durham."

A few FAQ's
Q: If I am already married, can I still marry Durham?
A: Yes, but only if you aren’t married to another city.
Q: What should I wear?
A: A wedding dress, a prom dress, a tux, Bermuda shorts, a beaver tail, roller skates – it’s your wedding. Wear what you want.
Q: Can children marry Durham?
A: Of course! Children will care for and sustain Durham when we are gone. Changes and growth are inevitable, and it will take small and large hands to shape this city’s future. We’ll have some kid friendly activities at Marry Durham too.
Q: If I lived in Durham for more than 7 years, am I in a common law marriage?
A: Do you have a commemorative Marry Durham t-shirt? How about a ring? If you answered no to any of those questions, then it isn’t official. Now please buy your wedding package [wedding packages are COMING SOON!] and help us to create a momentous Saturday afternoon!
Q: What if someone from Cary objects during the ceremony?
A: Someone from where? (Kidding.) We would never ban anyone from marrying their beloved Bull City.
Q: Where can we go for therapy if things start to fall apart?
A: City Hall and the Ballot Box.
Q: I love Durham, but can’t we just live together?
A: Durham depends on its citizens’ commitment to sustain the creative and innovative energy pulsing through this city. We only ask that you commit to nourishing this community as it continues to bloom.

Raleigh and I are eloping. Though we'd love to have Durham over for dinner sometime.

Aww, I think it's cute, but I have only ever been to Durham 2 times in my life.

What if someone from Cary objects during the ceremony?

I'M IN! Born in Durham, currently live in Raleigh, but Durham will FOREVER be my main squeeze. Raleigh's just my dude on the side

I have fear of commitment and might cheat on Durham with Wilmington ... I better not marry it, unless it is into open relationships ?
