I would not pick Spelios & Associates. While I have never personally seen them, Moderator cut: unsubstantiated allegations

Is that list the ONLY dentists you're allowed to see because they file Cigna insurance or are you allowed to pick your own if you file the claims the yourself?

Most dental plans with a required provider directory are worthless in NC.

My dentist (Howarth Family Dental) and most well liked practitioners aren't in these PPO groups.

Almost all dentists will do your insurance reimbursement forms if you're in a "pick your own dentist" plan. Of course, you must pay in full anything charged over the plan's allowance for the particular service.

Many PPO plan members use the PPO to bring in business. Then, as we've seen, they try to gouge you for other services.

Can you switch plans? We used to have Delta Dental and I don't remember ever having a problem with them as far as choosing dentists. Plus they were really good about processing our claims and reimbursing us fully within about 2weeks of service.

I'm going to tell my husband to switch plans The replies to this question and the poll results speak for themselves. It's a lousy plan with lousy dentists to chose from. Thanks for the feedback <---- Our family's teeth are worth a less restricitive plan.

Yes, NC is not the place for dental PPO or HMO plans.
