I love going when the cherry trees are in full bloom, usually late March. With this mild winter and a lot of the trees I've seen in bloom around Raleigh, I'm wondering what the gardens look like now. I don't want to drive all the way out there if it would better to wait a week, but don't want to miss them either! I tried calling but they guy who answered wasn't really sure.

I was there bright and early this morning. There isn't much in full bloom yet, but definitely buds. There were lots of flowers in bloom in the center area, where there are beds in big steps going down towards the water. I'm not sure about the cherry trees... we saw some big trees with blooms, but I think they were something in the magnolia family. It seems to be pretty green over there right now, and I suspect much more will start blooming in the next couple of weeks. Still lovely though!
