Only been here a month and have two kids- a 7 year old girl and 9 year old boy. Anyone have suggestions for fun Christmas events around town? We're about to move to Holly Springs (Sunset Ridge) so around that area, Cary or Apex is preferable, but not opposed to driving into Raleigh for something really fun.

We have the grandparents coming in to visit too and will only have moved in two weeks before they get here, so fun things to do around town will help keep us all sane.

Thanks for any suggestions!

Holly springs and apex both have good parades, Apex being my favorite of the two.

You might also check out the small theater in DT Fuquay Varina, they usually have some xmas theme plays that are audience participation, and kinda fun and different. (I forgot the name of the theater.)

Christmas train ride with Santa in New Hill. We go every year. Be sure to bring a thermos of hot coco, gloves and blankets.

The Raleigh Ringers will be in concert here December 8th and 9th. They are fantastic. It's a handbell choir and they will do traditional Christmas music but then may bust out with anything from Guns n Roses to Led Zeppelin to The Eagles....with handbells! We saw them a couple of years ago and already have tickets to see them on the 8th. I think they are entertaining enough for most kids but if yours just aren't into music at all you could leave the kiddies with the grandparents and go on a date with your spouse.

$8 for a craft fair Is it that much better than a free craft fair like Lazy Daze or Artsplosure?
