Take two large family size tea bags. I prefer Lipton. Put them in a pot of cold water. Barely boil.

Let them set for 15 minutes or so.

Use 3/4 cup of sugar if you want sweet. I prefer 1/2 cup but I'd be willing to bet Bo's uses 3/4 to 1 cup!

Use l/2 gallon pitcher. Pour the sugar in and then the hot tea. Fill the rest of the pitcher with tap water. Stir.

Pour over ice. Drink. Enjoy!

For years I was boiling tea bags which resulted in bitter tea. Here is my way of making it now:

2-3 family size tea bags (or 8-9 regular tea bags)

1) Boil 2 cups or so water

2) Remove from heat

3) Add tea bags- Steep for 5-10 minutes

4) Add 1/4 cup sugar to 2 quart pitcher

5) Pour in concentrated tea

6) Run warm tap over used tea bags (to fill pitcher)

7) LET SIT FOR 2-4 HOURS UNREFRIGERATED (most important step)

8) Refrigerate and enjoy.

Not sure why the tea was bitter...too much boiling? My MIL used to make sun tea...you know, you put the tea bags in water and put in the sun until it is "done". I always thought it had a peculiar taste. I guess it is all about what you get used to!

I just tried your non-boil recipe and it was great. It does have a less-bitter taste !!
Thanks for the tip..
