Google this ==> Raleigh 2005 traffic. This pops up, along with a lot of PTSD.

8 hour traffic delays, a real nightmare. Presumptuous? Hardly...WCPSS just doesn't want a repeat.

Chapel Hill Schools are closing early, too. Elementary schools will get out tomorrow at 12 noon instead of 2:30 PM.

Neither does anyone else. My daughters math teacher was recounting that nightmare to them today. She was trapped at school all night long with all the students and none of them had any food. She's a middle school teacher so it probably wasn't nearly as bad as the faculty who got stuck with a bunch of scared and hungry Kindergarteners.

School actually isn't a babysitting service.

Mine will be home at 11:00. They normally get out at 2:30, except for Mondays when they are dismissed at 12:30.

Anyone who has lived in the area for 20+ years knows we never get any frozen precipitation when the moisture comes from the north. It always hits the mountains and breaks up. Heck, the forecasters continue to lessen the amount of precipitation every forecast.
Only time we get anything frozen is when the moisture comes from the gulf. It'll be snow if the cold air from the north is already in place or ice if they meet at the same time.
