Thanks. I needed that. Recalling the ice storm in 2002 still gives me shivers....

Same here. The 02 Ice Storm was very challenging without power for what seemed like forever with those cold temps.

Has anyone been on 40 from Cary to Garner in the last hour or so? My husband will be getting off work in about an hour and will drive that route. I'm debating whether I should talk him into sleeping there.

Personally, I've always been a fan of Weather Underground since they get input from personal weather stations so it's hyper-local. Plus, they are based in Ann Arbor, my old stomping grounds, so I'm a little partial. However, The Weather Channel bought out Weather Underground this past summer so we can both be happy now!
