My deck is frozen in Holly Springs. Has anyone been on the roads? I have an inspection in Falls River at 2:30, trying to gauge the hazard.

The roads are going downhill QUICK! Highly advise anyone that does not need to drive to stay at home, it's going to be a big mess, if it isn't already!

Yeah. Sleet mixed with snowflakes here by SAS.

Accumulated in elevated areas and driveways. The brined roads are holding up nicely.

here at the north hills area we were getting snow then heavy snow then nothing. now it appears we may be getting light sleet?

my husband just called about the roads. he was on the 440/40 area from south saunders to poole road at the beltline & said that the roads weren't bad, but be sure to take it slow. the edges are accumulating sleet. he also said to be sure to clear the windshield of any ice before heading out. he cleared most of it but because of the freezing temperature, by the time he got 5 minutes down the road, the only clear spot on his windshield was where the defrost was hitting it. he pulled off to clear it completely & ran the defrost/heat enough to warm the windshields to prevent it from happening more.

stay safe out there, folks.

Some icy snow at about 10:30 AM until about 11:30 AM in Chapel Hill. Now it's done. Roads are completely fine where I am. Is there more coming or was that it?

Looking at the radar, it looks like there is more coming.

The bad stuff is SW of Roanoke right now

The NWS forecast for Raleigh / Durham airport is calling for freezing "rain" (drizzle) from 2pm to 10 pm.
