Drive to Wilson, eat a cheddar Bo just as you get off of 264. Then drive to Wilson 's Five Points and get a cheese biscuit at Flo's. Hers are the size of a hamburger bun. Then you could also stop by Abrams for another good cheese biscuit.
Of course after that feeding you will be happy to know that we have a very nice walking track in front of the hospital.

I've eaten a few of those "cat heads" at Flo's myself I usually get the ham or bacon.
Well, I suppose there are 2 people on here that are familiar with the infamous eastern NC cheese biscuit. And no, its not a flat biscuit cut in half and a slice of processed american cheese tossed in the middle.
Were talking about a softball size biscuit ball with a dark golden brown greasy, flaky crust - stuffed with copious quantities of melting hot hoop cheese baked into the center, not mixed in with the dough. The are typically served in an aluminum foil wrapper.
I have come to terms that they are non-existent in this part of the state so I tried to Google a recipe with no such luck. A few offer a "cheese stuffed biscuit" the meets 2 criteria yet lack in the flaky golden greasy crust category.
So I ask the question... Does anyone have the recipe for the real deal?
as much as I enjoy Bojangles, it's always interesting to hear the regional differences in items served in the stores. Even odder to hear that what they serve as coleslaw in Raleigh/ENC that I've seen is actually close to Western-style red slaw, and now I hear you can get some eastern style creamy slaw in the west.
I spent a few years growing up in ENC and lots of summers there afterwards. I remember how good the cheese biscuits were but we never ate them out. They were a Sunday morning staple at the house. I learned to make them (from scratch and with hoop cheese) as a kid. On 5th Sundays, we skip church at my house and I make "old school" breakfast, including the fresh sausage that my Mom buys for me that you can only get from the meat farm in the winter and have to reserve in advance :-).
Thinking that I'll get trendy and do one of those meal deals where you list the menu and strangers pay to come eat with you instead of at a restaurant. The lady featured in the article (Washington Post) had a whole meal based on different kinds of Mac and cheese - definitely a "northerner" meal Southern breakfast sounds a LOT better and I could probably get some CD takers
I'm familiar with it. The best I've ever had was from the Fast Break gas station in Snow Hill, NC. Between Greenville and Goldsboro on US 13. Esepcially if you get it with the sausage patty that is the size of a hamburger patty.
I actually spotted a biscuitville nearby one morning and decided to stop by. Although their biscuits were tasty, it wasn't close. Just a slice of good ole american processed partly hydrogenated soybean oil posing as cheese.
I called Tri-Arc foods last week and asked why Bojangles in Raleigh and Clayton didn't have these biscuits on their menu. The response was that it was the owner's decision. Maybe we should start a petition.
I haven't seen a Cheddar Bo since I lived in New Bern back in the 90s. I assumed it was a limited-time promotion, but I guess what REALLY happened is I moved back to RTP, where they don't exist.
I did an internship in Eastern NC in 2011, and was instructed to get a cheese biscuit from Abram's. I ate a TON of good food while in ENC, but never made time for the cheese biscuits. I see now I missed out. I'm KICKING myself!
