eg, an apartment on a hill (so I could see a good distance.)

I can't climb stairs, so this basically means ground level.

I don't think I can help with specifics, but I'm sure that if you define your budget and size (# of bedrooms) that you need, it will be way easier for others to help. And do you have a specific area of the Triangle in mind?

How about a high-rise with an elevator? What's your budget? Where exactly do you need to live?

A view of great distance, it doesn't have to be anything special.

Budget: I'm currently paying 700/mo, and could maybe pay 800/mo for something really great.

> high-rise with an elevator?

That would be too expensive IMO.

The farther west you go, the hillier and thus more change of "seeing a great distance". There aren't many one-story apartment buildings in this area, period, that I know of, never mind with a "view". A high-rise with an elevator wouldn't always be expensive--there are some mid-range (older) ones.

Raleigh and South Durham have a lot of trees and any one-story apt you found would probably only be able to see woods.
