This place is weird sometimes man. The Raleigh metro area has nearly 2 million people and I've run into people from work so many times. Just tonight I went into one of those "fast food" style Chinese joints in Cary and lo and behold there is one of my team leaders chillin in there...I think I posted about this the last time it happened 3 times in one day at TTC mall and later that night at the Blue Ridge theater, also a lady at Food Lion in Durham, my boss at Walmart in Durham, a girl at Cats Cradle in Carrboro...it's like I'm living in a gigantic small town. Seriously, this never even happened at the 1 Walmart in little ol Cabot Arkansas with 25,000 people. so weird. I can honestly say this whole metro, though big city-esque, has a small town feel. Kinda cool, kinda wtf

I would suppose that at a great many retail establishments, there will be many employees working away on Thanksgiving day to prep for Black Friday craziness.
Maybe coming in early afternoon or early evening, but when doors open at midnight or 4:00AM, or whatever, there are people there much earlier.
Hopefully, they are able to come in late enough to be working on a second mellow tryptophan-inspired buzz....

It does. And I think it's pretty cool, too. I run into folks and I'm often shocked because of the population size. I keep thinking "this is not supposed to happen here" ... and sure enough, it does.

True...but at least it will be fewer than if they were open, right? Not perfect...it's sort of inherent in some industries unfortunately. I'll be working this year too since it's my holiday for call.

Someone has been honking their horn continually for the past 20 minutes on what sounds like Six Forks near North Hills

I-85 needs widened between Sparger Road in Durham and I-40 in Hillsborough.

Oh yeah, almost forgot: the NC-147/US-15-501 interchange blows.

You don't love going from 65 mph to 5 mph suddenly to take the sharp right turn "exit" ramp onto NC-147 there? I remember the first time I encountered that going from 15-501 onto 147. I near had a heart attack while crushing my brake pedal with my foot.
