I expect to go to 200/20 by July, i.e., "1st quarter of 2015."
Yes, I know that is the end of the 2nd quarter. Just trying to set myself up for predictable delays.
Actually, I am stalking them a bit, looking for a good deal on 50/5 so I can strike on it and get the 300/20 package.
They keep wanting to mess with the TV, too, for that level and I don't mess with Heart Throb's TV without direct instruction to do so.
IMO, the big winner here is Garner. Now it has a carrot to dangle in front of new residents and businesses that several other suburbs don't have. Long overshadowed, Garner could make a run at improving their city and image if they choose to do so. Leveraging the Google announcement/service and the proximity to DT Raleigh could change the sleepy fortunes of this town.
Is AT&T still going to follow-through with the NCNGN agreement to run all new fiber through Durham? It would be an interesting side-by-side comparison if both Google and AT&T deploy a brand new network somewhere at exactly the same time. In Austin, AT&T had the advantage of being the local carrier, but it's an open competition in Durham.
It would be cool if the two companies fought for bragging rights when entering a new city, but it probably won't happen. I get the sense that Google was just calling AT&T's bluff about delivering gigabit service at any kind of scale to our area.

I was not holding my breath waiting for AT&T to encroach on another telco's territory in downtown Durham. I think there's a reason they started in Apex. Frontier connected two sites here and then disappeared. They and TWC deserve the pain Google is about to dish out.
I can't believe they included Garner and left out Hillsborough...not ok.
Easier to develop Garner as Garner is contiguous to Raleigh.
Hillsborough is contiguous to... Not much.
