I really have to see what all the hype is about.
I have to say i'm guilty of road tripping to VA for a Wegmans fix myself.

My husband once drove from DC to Brooklyn for a Nathan's hot dog in Coney Island. I thought he was nuts.

Many in this forum have waited for these news forever. Congrats to all the upstate New Yorkers that have been begging to have a Wegmans forever.

I am not going to lie- the minute I heard the news I had to come to City-Data to see the reaction to the news ha, ha, ha

Wow, I'll have to say I was a bit disappointed to see that big building on the Columbia proposed site plan after hearing all their hype about it. I guess I'll temper that a bit if it's a Wegmans.

To me it's looking more and more like the best play for the owners of Cary Towne is to redevlop it into some sort of mixed use high end center as well.

Someone I met up with from Wegmans corporate HQ hinted to me about a year ago that this would be happening. Can't wait!

Lololol.......yes I have driven to Wegmans in Fredericksburg (heck it is ONLY 3 hrs and 15 mins from my house).....leave at 9AM - have lunch there (their subs are delish), shop leisurely for two or three hours, spend a bunch of money on Wegmans deliciousness, home by 6PM. I could care less about WaWa or Ikea but Wegmans that is a whole other story!!!

LOL.

Yeah... I mean, I'll go and all... at least to see if they do a good job with it, but I cannot recall wanting to spend that much time in one before.
