Anybody with any info on this K-Hov development.

Prices seem good, and the houses/room sizes are nice. Looks like 20 mins to RTP.

Any comments on this are of Raleigh.. Also, what are the local schools for the area..

Thanks

Prior to settling on Cary, my family and I explored Bedford (and the Carolinas) quite a bit. In fact, we were looking at a home on "Up Above Lane." I believe the schools for this area are Lead Mine Elementary, Wakefield Middle, and Wakefield High.

Schools were a major factor when looking for a home, so I can tell you where you can find some more information about them. To begin with, if you go to the following link, it will tell you the schools' performance scores sorted by elementary, middle, and high. This will give you a good idea about the Carolinas base schools (and any other you might be interested in).

http://www.wcpss.net/test-scores/nc-abcs/2006/

Then, if you wanted to compare neighboring schools (which you mentioned), you can go to:

http://www.greatschools.net/cgi-bin/...+up+above+lane

This site is amazing! You will be impressed with what the Internet can do. Here you can see parent remarks, test scores, student and teacher statistics, and then compare one school with another.

I'm a firm believer in researching the area as much as possible and couldn't have learned as much as I have without my realtor. A good realtor who is willing to work for you is hard to come by.

Bedford is a great community with a variety of housing to choose from as well as builders. It includes several park areas as well as a community pool and an outdoor fresh market.

It is close to 540, and has several shopping areas close by. The above sites are great for researching the school districts, but should be confirmed for any address you are considering.

I just went to Bedford at Falls River (for Thanksgiving dinner family/friend gathering) for first time, and I fell in love with that place. The homes is built like Charleston row house - make you feel like you're living in Charleston, SC. Yes, true, the lot is VERY small, but hey-you don't need to worry about mowing the grass that much. It is so close to everywhere (store, new hospital, school, lake, etc).

If I have plenty of money, of course, I would definely buy a house there. The houses at Bedford are selling for over $350K. We ended up living in a nice house for under $200k with a huge lot in Johnston County.

Default Confirmation of Schools

You can confirm your school by going to

http://wwwgis2.wcpss.net/cgi-bin/Production/MainScript.pl?MainOption=StreetMain (broken link)

Here, you type in your home address and it tells you what school your children will attend (for that year).
