I think I saw on the news the other night that the Mall was already planning on closing the parking areas that flood.

At 12:45 pm Crabtree Creek at the mall is already above 14 feet, where the parking lots begin to flood. This could get really ugly because there's a lot of moving water still upstream from the mall, not to mention that the radar is almost solid orange between Raleigh and Wilmington at 1:15...

Lots of power outages reported across the state, as to be expected:

Just came in from the storm, you don't want to be out there if you don't have to. Poor visibility and some flooded streets.

One store's lights were flickering, traffic lights on Six Forks Road were intermittent.

Listening to the Wake County Fire/EMS dispatch feed - numerous roads closed across the area (especially southern Wake) due to flooding and/or trees down.

I keep track of the goings on at my beach place with the use of a Smart Cam mounted inside my porch window that faces the street. I've been watching the live feed from here in Raleigh today. Storm surge is now washing into Cherry Grove. I have at least a foot of water in my house. I just lost the feed probably because of power loss. I'm glad I saw what was happening there before I lost the picture. I won't have to worry about it now
