That's what I was trying to say but couldn't think of a polite way to word it....
Speaking of erotic movie theaters.. who remembers the old Old drive- in at New Hope Church Road and Capital? There is a Marshalls there now.... and for a long time a Phar Mor (not sure what is there now)... and an Uptons (long gone too)....
Other thoughts:
The Alamo Motel on Downtown Blvd.
The Frog and Nightgown Supper Club.
Brown bagging.
When the BB&T building (now Capital Bank) was the tallest building in Raleigh.
Tower Drive-In.
Beacon Ambulance service.
Little plastic oranges at The Cardinal Theater and the 2017 opening of the time capsule was impossibly far into the future.
No kindergarten at public schools.
Hayes Barton swimming pool.
Charlie Brown's at Gresham Lake.
Village Dinner Theater.
WKIX was "the" station to listen to.
The Frog and Nightgown Supper Club.
I was too young to go, but remember hearing about it all the time. I remember when Lily Tomlin did a gig there in...1973? But they were sold out by the time we got there.
Brown bagging.
And the huge controversy when they voted on liquor-by-the-drink.
When the BB&T building (now Capital Bank) was the tallest building in Raleigh.
and before that, it was the Holiday Inn (now Clarion)!
Little plastic oranges at The Cardinal Theater
OMG, yes! Forgot about those! I remember the wonderful bouncy seats and HUGE auditoriums, though.
No kindergarten at public schools.
Right; Elementary went 1-6.
Village Dinner Theater.
My parents would take me there almost every birthday.
WKIX was "the" station to listen to.
I still remember the (long-dead) request number: 851-3277!
I cannot remember the name but does anyone remember the Pizza place in the center of Capital BLVD circa 25 years ago?... not far from the bowling alley, they had SQUARE pizzas!
MMM! Chi Chi's! My first encounter with fried ice cream!
Anyone go to Camp Ranoca as a kid?
Me.
"RA for Raleigh, NO for North, CA for Carolina, of course. That's how Ranoca got it's name, and how the campers got their fame..." Cheesy I know, but that's how the song went.

I'll come up with the name eventually. I used to eat there all the time. Good pizza too...thin crispy crust...cut in squares
