One of your problems...

According to some people, among other criteria, Real barbecue joints:
1. Aren't open on Sunday.
2. Don't serve beer.
3. Have a picture of Jesus in them. (Refer to not being open on Sunday.)

Another vote for Parkers and order family style. Eat all you want one price.

I'm confused .... is Parkers in Wilson or Greenville or both. The Greenville menu looks fantastic.

From the Briar Creek area, you'll get into the country sooner going to Wilson. Another plus for Wilson -- whirligigs.

Carthage will probably be the more scenic drive...then of course you could take the old 64 and 264 to Wilson
