Hope it's better than Aldi. I've got one across the street from work but I rarely shop there. I don't find their "imitation" products to be as good as the original. I've bought butter cookies with chocolate. They were too sweet. I bought some green juice like Odwalla. I didn't read the ingredients and realized it had zinc. It reacted rather badly to a pill I take every day. Not Aldi's fault, but it put me off shopping there. I do like to shop at Trader Joe's. I realize they're basically the same company.
Next to the McDonald's. Has anyone been in one of these stores? Is it like Aldi?
Is this the McDonald's across Wake Forest Rd. from Costco? If so, this area is going to be retail heaven to me in the near future. Costco, Lidl, Trader Joe's and Wegman's all in the same trip!

No it's the 4000 block of Wake Forest Road. It's near Red Lobster and TGI Friday's.
If I recall correctly they are not the same. Aldi is controlled by one brother's company and TJ's by the other brother's.
The brothers supposedly are rivals with each other based on accounts that I've read, but it's a little ironic how similar the flow and layout of both stores are.
One difference between LIDL and Aldi is the store size. LIDL is approximately 36,000 square feet, compared to typically less than half that for Aldi. LIDL's size would be similar to a Food Lion (see description below).

Trader Joes and Aldi similar? I don't think so at all. I don't like Aldi and it's nothing like TJs to me, which I do like a lot. I've only been in the Aldi at Southpoint, though, so maybe others are more like TJs. That Aldi was junky and unappealing.
