I asked about tulips a while back and seem to remember people saying they don't grow very well there because you lack the long months of cold weather required for them to bloom.

Do you have a lot of them? Do they bloom reliably for you for consecutive years?

Ask me again in a few weeks. Shoots are just coming up through the mulch.

I've never had luck with them. Some years they only come up half their height and don't bloom.

It's somewhere else, and hopefully it stays there forever! Death to snow!

I had that happen here too, where they're supposed to thrive. I've always felt they were a pain considering how the squirrels love to eat them, they can't be too soggy wet or they'll rot, sometimes they come up stunted. But they are gorgeous when you see them in big drifts in spring.

I don't think tulips do well here. I love to plant daffodills, though, because the squirrels and deer leave them alone.

You all are crazy . If I wanted warm weather during winter, I'd move to Florida. February is supposed to be cold.

Not in the South. Feb is usually like this. It will get cold again before it stays hot, though. Too bad for me. I remember college kids in the 80s laying out in their swimsuits to get a tan in Feb. It also snowed once on April 17th in the 80s (pissed me off, too).
