Tulips are already beginning to grow by the mailbox
I asked about tulips a while back and seem to remember people saying they don't grow very well there because you lack the long months of cold weather required for them to bloom.
Do you have a lot of them? Do they bloom reliably for you for consecutive years?

I've never had luck with them. Some years they only come up half their height and don't bloom.

I had that happen here too, where they're supposed to thrive. I've always felt they were a pain considering how the squirrels love to eat them, they can't be too soggy wet or they'll rot, sometimes they come up stunted. But they are gorgeous when you see them in big drifts in spring.

Not in the South. Feb is usually like this. It will get cold again before it stays hot, though. Too bad for me. I remember college kids in the 80s laying out in their swimsuits to get a tan in Feb. It also snowed once on April 17th in the 80s (pissed me off, too).
