I'm reading this and I just am laughing. Is the organic hipster movement so nutso that they are seriously trying to market "organic" ready to plant plants now too?!?!?!?!

you get organic veggie starts at the Fred Meyers (grocery store ) over here on the left coast...
and plenty of places sell organic seeds-
it just means the plants are non GMO and no pesticides were used in cultivation.
easy to do on your own, just plant organic seeds in a six pack, and you're off to a good start-
heres one catalog of seeds (usually theres good info for anyone who wants to read and find out alittle why someone would want to purchase organic ...and also heirloom ... varieties )... HEIRLOOM SEEDS - 29 years preserving our heritage. - Non-GMO
(Just browsing your forum, good friend is moving to NC so checking it out, as we will visit at some point)...

If only they stocked "organic" seeds!!!! LOL
That is correct! we need plants grown from organic seeds and not using any chemicals to spur up growth.
Further, in the United States, there are only two vegetables that have been developed by non-traditional genetic modification: sweet corn and squash. All other vegetables have been genetically modified via traditional breeding methods.
I generally buy mine at farmer's markets to transplant - I don't want the pesticides (not sure there's anything hipster about that...). Will go to the Irregardless sale, sounds fun.

Reason: Changed "transplants" to "transplant." I *am* a transplant, but I want to transplant plants. :-D
