Property damage from neighbors tree

I had a tree fall in a neighbors yard this summer and they sent their yard guy around tel tell me it would be $400 to chop it up if I moved the pieces. I told him to get the money from the neighbors if they needed it doing straight away otherwise I would do it during the next week - which is what happened

If it was me, I would call my homeowners and make a claim and let them figure out how to be made whole.

You have to prove the homeowner knew their tree was dead, or that it was patently obvious that it was dead. There are people who will send letters to their neighbor every year and tell them the tree appears to be dead and keep picture evidence. If the tree falls on their house, those people are in luck
