The Bull City is one of the best places to buy a house right now, according to a new survey by personal finance website, WalletHub.
On the WalletHub's list of Best Real Estate Markets of 2018, Durham came in at number five, which followed three Texas towns and Santa Clara, California.

The website compared 300 cities on two key dimensions: Real-Estate Market, where it analyzed metrics such as median-home-price appreciation and the number of days on the market, and Affordability and Economic Environment, which studied affordability and job growth.

Cary came in 14th for the best housing market. Raleigh was listed as 53rd.

as soon as I saw the headline, I wondered "was it WalletHub?"

I suppose further personal research is warranted.

Well that would explain the recent uptick of Raleigh/Wake County agents taking listings in Durham....and offering their week-a$$ Wake County buyer-agent compensation! GTFO!

I would say what's happening is Durham is having a pop moment especially as it was perceived as inferior to raleigh/chapel hill/cary for so long

Here is what she said "Cary ranked @ 14 and Raleigh ranked @ 53. Some of the key factors are affordability".
Wouldn't that be contradictory? ... Or maybe I'm just not well informed. Cary is way more expensive than Raleigh.

Durham and Raleigh have more lower-priced opportunities than Cary does.

And, that muddles the calcs.

I dislike the generalizations of almost all simple-minded market stats. All generalizations stink, including this one.
