I got a great deal last week on American Airlines. Each ticket was $97 before taxes. Two tickets with taxes came out to $245. I don't know if this kind of deal happen a lot, but I'm glad I was able to get them! The last ticket I bought was on Jet Blue and that one cost me a little over $200.

Thanks for the suggestions. I just looked into JetBlue, and their price was just a bit less than Delta, US Air, United, and American on Expedia ($193 RT over a weekend in January). How did you find that great $97 fare?

Thanks,
Alice

I think I was just lucky that day. I had been putting off getting tickets for my daughter and I to come back to NC and finally I made myself go and look for tickets and that's when I saw the $97 fare. I found it on Cheap Tickets, which is strange because I normally go to Expedia or even Travelocity first. The Universe must have willed me to go there to get the fare

Which airport did you check? And which travel site? I think you have to go directly to Jet Blue's website for their flights. Their flights aren't on other travel sites.
