My son might be moving to Raleigh Durham area and would be looking for a rental (not house). Working in Kitts Creek area. What are the best areas to live for young, professional moving to the area? Looking for place to rent with amenities and social connection for young professional.

Wherever is close to his job and he can afford. The Triangle is a huge area. If I had to recommend one place, I would choose the Southpoint area of Durham. It is central to employment areas and has dozens of restaurants, bars and gyms.
The actual downtown areas of both Durham and Raleigh are hot, but very expensive. I am assuming the son is making an entry-level salary.

Would be helpful to let us know what area he will be working?

Depending on the area, he could have a 45-60 minute commute one way to work. He does not want that.

I'd presume that too since his parents are still involved in his life decisions.

If he’s old enough to move someplace for a job, he’s old enough to do the research himself. Please let him. I know you have the best of intentions, but you aren’t doing him any favors by doing the legwork for him.

Agree. There are dozens of apartment complexes near the intersection of 885, 540 and 40, within driving distance of the Kitts Creek location. Since they are near the Fidelity Investments offices, there will be hundreds of new graduates working there and living in nearby apartments.

I suggest the son use Google maps to research which ones he can afford, and which have the amenities he would want.

How about Parkside Commons? I don't know anything about the apartments but it's super close.

Southpoint is a good suggestion, too.
