8' tree. $289 delivered from Balsam Hill.
This will be the 7th year, with many years of use left.

I like that math.

Neighbor Boy in Apex, their cheapest tree is 100:

That’s for preorder, I’m not sure if it’s more expensive just showing up.

I can clip pine trees behind the house and bring a few branches inside.

In years past, I had success finding 8+ foot trees at Food Lion, you had to go early, as the tallest ones get picked through first. We are back to an artificial one for the last 2 years, so it has been awhile getting a fresh tree from them.

I’m guessing other places will be well over a hundred for a decent sized tree.

What exactly do you think it should cost for a tree, once you plant it, mow around it and shape it for 8-10 years, cut it and then ship it across the state? Hard to imagine there is any margin at all selling a 7' tree for $55, let alone $30. $100 seems reasonable.

Trees seem to be about 30-50% more expensive than they were two years ago, thanks to our lovely economy. Nobody here is blaming the farmers.
