Im not sure exactly how this works but the first I heard this term was from my insurance agent. Today I filled out a form for a background check for a job I am pursuing and they asked if I every requested a prayer for judgement (right under the question asking if i ever had been convicted for any felony). I am wondering why that question was asked and in the same grouping as the felony question. Is prayer for judgement a bad thing you dont want to do because it sure sounds like a question I definitely did not want to answer yes to.

Can you get a PFJ for felonies? I've heard this term in connection with speeding tickets. You get a PFJ and then if you don't get another citation within a certain number of years, the first citation drops off your record. In that case, it doesn't seem like a terrible thing. But you would know if you ever had one.

That is a great question. If a PFJ for traffic looks similar to PFJ for felony
to an employer.

There is a felony diversion program in Wake County that is for first offenders with non-violent crimes. It's not a PFJ but requires community service hours.

Prayer of Judgment is like a delayed prosecution. Usually there's some stipulation or condition stuck to it, like, don't committ the crime again for a period of time and then the original charge will be expunged. For driving jobs I would presume this is essentially considered a conviction. It varies for insurance purposes. As far as I know this is only used in NC and SC?

Just a nitpick, but the proper term in NC is Prayer for Judgment Continued, abbreviated PJC.

Just as an FYI, the job I was applying for is not a driving job. I just thought it was odd that they asked, in the same group of questions as if I had a previous felony, if I had a Prayer for Judgement. Just very odd...

FYI: Judgment doesn't have an "e" after the "g". That is, of course, unless the judgment is about potatoes.
