I just received my latest water bill from Fuquay-Varina. I was quite surprised to see the total of $95.00, when I have not been watering my lawn. The bill is as follows:
  • WA Mthly Minimum $9.28
  • WA Consumption $27.34
  • SW Fixed Charge $11.50
  • SW Sewer $32.37
  • RF Solid Waste & 14.25
Holy smokes that seems high. What is the breakdown everyone else is paying? I am glad I have decided to go with Bermuda grass, as it would cost a fortune to water the Fescue.

Our water bill (also town of Fuquay) this month was high for us as well - $65. We usually pay around $50. I also noticed that there were blanks where they usually list the date that they read the meter and the number of days in the cycle (which can vary from 28 to 36 and really makes a difference in the bill).

So I'm guessing (hoping!) that they estimated bills this month and they'll be lower when they actually read the meters. I've never had that happen with water here, but it happened a lot with water and natural gas where I lived before.

$95 does seem REALLY high though, depending on the number of people in your home. Might make sure you don't have any hidden leaks.

That's weird... We had the same situation with our Durham city water bill... it skyrocketed from the usual $20-30 to around $100. I reseeded small areas of the lawn and did some watering... I didn't think I did that much!

Any chance the bill covers a longer period of time than usual?

Your water is only 36.66 The sewer adds 43.87 then the trash.. Still a good price for all 3 services. How many gallons did you use?? We used 7700 gallons this month or about 250 gallons a day which is correct, wife takes a good bath everyday and 3 loads of wash and a dishwsher run daily.

My bill was 92 this month.

We are as low as 70 and as high as 120 depending on outdoor water use.

The bill was for 32 days for us. Paid it today at the town hall, such nice people there. Save 44 cents not mailing it.

I have no idea who your water supplier is, but if you aren't on city water, then this doesn't seem all that far off base. I've found that sewage costs far exceed water costs when dealing with corporate water companies, such as Aqua. If you are using a non-government supplier for your water and sewage, then you will have to pay the actual cost vs. one subsidized by your taxes.

I have AQUA and my first water bill was 100 dollars. I saw the sewer portion was 65 dollars. I called and they said the sewer price is how much sewer will be every month. I never calculated a 100 a month water bill. My water usage charge was only 17 dollars. This is crazy. There has to be a way to complain about this excessive charge.
