Since the Raleigh Christmas parade is this Saturday, I thought I would ask the people who attend this event every year...where's the best place to sit? What time do you get there? Also, what is the parade time?
Debating on whether to go this year or just watch it on TV.
I love the parade. Anywhere along the route is good. This is the first parade with City Plaza open, so I assume they viewing stand will be there. If you want to park at one of the downtown decks, of which there are many, you can stake out a spot of Fayetteville STreet, go get coffee or KK donuts (new on the plaza). We like to be closer to the start of the parade, so we sit along Hillsborough. Our church (First Baptist) gives out free hot chocolate, Good Shepard across the street has good ham biscuits.
Okay, so food is important to me.
Take something soft to sit on, the concrete gets cold.
I went a few years back and stood on the grounds around the State Capital Building (located at the intersection of W Morgan and Fayetteville Street. Here are some pictures that give you an idea of the view I had.
We've gone when it was cold, and it was one heckuva miserable experience.
We've gone when it was 72 degrees, and it was FUN!
