I was wondering if anyone knows anything about this town? What is the population? Do they have a town center or any business district? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
We just bought a home there recently. It is definatley a small town (which we love) There are only a few thousand people but Fuquay and Clayton are not that far away for shopping. There is no business district that I have found and no real "downtown" area. If you like a rural community, you will love it. The people are great. Friendly, family oriented and a great sense of community.
It really depends on what you are looking for, if you have children that will want to be involved in sports etc., to do that in Willow Springs you will have to travel out of town (Fuquay/Clayton); no shopping in actual town; you can definately find bigger home lots there though.
We love it out here in Willow Spring - and yes, I did type with no (s) on spring. Have heard different stories:
1) Willow Spring, (Wake County) is different than Willow Springs, (Johnston County) or
2) They are one in the same ...
Any way you look at it, there is no town to speak of, at least where I live. Having said that:
We have 1.6 acres, with a protected forest and creek behind us. We are not more than a couple miles from good grocery shopping and only 6 miles to several really good stores, movie theaters, and restaurants. I think the best thing that my husband likes, besides the great land and house, is the drop off station for any refuse you might have, i.e., paper, glass, trash, paint cans and moving boxes - just within a mile of us - and it's free to anyone in Wake County.
We don't even mind the commute to RTP for husband and Apex for me. We are carpooling and it's working out very well.
We are empty nester's and the only one's in our cul-da-sac! Everyone else is young with young children. Great neighborhood and great neighbors!
Good luck and happy hunting!
