Hi all,
I am possibly moving from New Mexico to the Raleigh/Durham area. Just curious about schools in the area. I will be working at RDU airport, so a commute of less than 30 mins is a plus, but I really focus on the quality of schools first. Right now I just need info on elementary schools and I am looking at houses in the range of $200 - $275,000. Zip codes or subdivision names would be a huge help as well. If you have info on places to avoid as well that would be great. Thanks ahead of time for all the responses.

You could go further out then Mike suggested with that drive time...but he did hit the highlights.

Basically...almost all of Wake or Orange County/Chapel Hill are going to already be good. Durham County has made some changes recently......I'd do research before I ruled them out as well. It all depends on your comfort and involvement level.
