My family and I are relocating to the Raleigh area. We are looking in Clayton. Actually we are just looking for larger lots than a "postage stamp", and so that takes us outside of Raleigh. Which we don't mind. My husband is from Greenville NC so we are familar with Raliegh. The only thing I am not sure of is how far is Clayton from Raleigh? I am also wanting to know if anyone knows anything about the LEE FOREST SUBDIVISION? They look like nice size lots and for the money it seems like a possibilty. We are looking around 200K and want close to 2000 sq feet. I don't want to be out in the middle of nowhere though. We have a 4 year old so I do want to be in a neighborhood. ANY SUGGESTIONS?

HELP!

I can't help with the Lee's Forest question, except to say that I've driven through it and there is still alot of new construction going on. It's a much larger sub-div. than it appears to be from the road. I would guess you'd be about 15-20 minutes from Raleigh, depending on traffic, etc.

Lees Forest sounds like the choice for you. It is located closer to I-40 and closer to shopping. The schools it is assigned school are W Clayton, Clayton Middle and Clayton high which are all good schools. I took pictures of this development when we were thinking of moving to Raleigh. If you look back a couple of pages you can scroll through the pictures. We were looking for 2000 sq ft, under 220 and close to shopping with good schools. All the pictures i took are of developments that fit that criteria. Also I did a right up on my visit to Clayton too.

The builder is also top notch (as per my realtor....closets have wood shelving instead of that coated white wire that most use). It is one of the closest to "everything" areas in Clayton, especially if you'll be commuting to Raleigh.

We live in the Archer Lodge section...it takes us an additional 12-15 minutes to get to Guy Road (Lee Forest is off Guy road).
