I went to Realtor.com to check my stuff, and saw Samsung ads.
I know all about adblock, etc. What the heck, anyway?! Nothing cheapens a site like ads.
We have to pay to enhance listings, and our listings are supposed to be the advertised product.
So they changed realtor.com so that buyers would need to contact agents to get information like whether a property is pending, etc.?
Of course they did.
Because these numbnuts think that forcing people to do something will work.
Let's analyze this:
1. Have to contact (play phone/email tag with agent) to get info/data
2. Use another site

Monty,
I chose door #2
Not in South Florida, they didn't. Pending listings show up and are identified just as they always have been. Here's, but one example:
Ironically, I prefer my search to not be cluttered with properties that are really not available; consequently, I prefer to use a site such as ziprealty which doesn't show pending listings.

But they had a check box before to hide pending listings and last time I checked it was gone.
I just saw a property that fell thru because the asking price was $55K and the appraisal came in at $43K, now it shows off market and the estimate is $84k so Realtor.com must have sold to some morons.
$799k listing and security bars on every window? I cant imagine living like that.
They're not security bars in the traditional sense. It's just a style that the Cubans brought with them. You see those iron railings on windows even in the best neighborhoods down here.
I would think Realtors would be able to put together a decent site.
I used it more than a decade ago and really liked it... bought property out of state and it was because of Realtor.com.
NAR licensed the Realtor.com domain to Move, Inc. Move was sold last year to Rupert Murdoch's bunch.
I don't know what controls NAR has in place for use of the license, but there doesn't seem to be much control over presentation and quality.
Seeing ads for Samsung around listings was aggravating.
