But how do people get the exact address (except in Clint's case)?
It gets out. Locals could tell, property sale records, etc...
I lived in Mooresville, NC, where a lot of the NASCAR drivers live, and I knew where many of them lived. I didn't actively seek anyone, either. It starts with a coworker- so and so lives across the street and after a couple of years, you just know.

Tou can search the county's appraisal tax base on line
Some people--like police--can have their info protected but likely not someone like Clint
Magnolia Homes might have C/J's ranch in its name vs Gaines
But word if mouth in smaller town is stronger than hurricane for good/bad results
One thing that I do not like about Fixer Upper is that they never work on houses north of the river nor east of US 84 (and, yes, I know that the Silos are east of 84).
They seem to not spend much time in Waco, but a lot of time in Woodway.
They go where the buyers are looking--
Most of them have kids and want better schools--Waco ISD likely has fewer good options than a smaller suburban district...
Why lot of people look in areas outside metros--because of schools--
Waco (although the show may not feature it) has lot of lower income areas---
It really was kind of a slum town most of past 50 yrs except for few areas w/upper income doctors/attorneys/professors...
Yeah, they meant $95k right? I mean, it is in nice condition and would be worth less were it not new and clean.
It would go for 220k here in central MD, but location is everything. Lots of room to expand in Texas and that house doesn't look to have too much square footage (1,050 is grounds for being called a "tiny house" is it not?) or acreage even by the standards on this coast.
Money maker for the woman with the lots---
Twice as many for same size
Tiny house movement has some fans all over the country I guess but most of those are on moveable platforms...
And for town like Waco that has a popular athletic program which has grown over the past 15 or so years to much more than it was 30-40 yrs ago there is probably high weekend density
I know she didn't say anything about rentals but the guy in the photo is the one who did the original house from Chip and Jo...and they turned that into Airbnb almost right away...
That was bone of contention in Austin where many people were buying homes and renting on Airbnb w/o really vetting the renters
Lot of obnoxious parties--frat guys peeing on front yards in neighborhoods w/families
Cars parked in front of people's driveways---drunks puking on yards--and owners no where to be found since many bought through some LLC with difficult to locate owners...
Many, many unhappy homeowners in Austin
And Austin was losing lot of money bcuz owners were not paying city tax on that rental income...
The "shotgun house" in that article is the one that was on Fixer Upper, correct? Interesting that unless I missed it, that article doesn't even mention the show and seems like the homeowner is basically trying to take credit for the work Chip and Joanna did.
