This morning I received an email that said "Homesnap is an award-winning mobile app that provides accurate real estate data for over 90 million homes. Get the Homesnap app to see how much the homes in your neighborhood are worth.
Please accept my invitation to connect on Homesnap. Next time you have a real estate question or need advice, contact me via Homesnap. I'm happy to answer any questions you might have. "
Homesnap's website proudly proclaims "Homesnap is the real estate industry's national search portal, featuring the same accurate, real-time information that agents use." Curiously, Wikipedia has no entry for such an august business.
In the "about" section, it isn't clear who owns it, who funded its creation, etc.
Has anyone heard of this? I'm curious if it is legit.
We have it here. I don't know exactly how the relationships work but Homesnap is the public-facing interface our MLS uses for advertising on facebook et al.

Same. I don't personally use it. They're owned by CoStar which is basically the Zillow of the Commercial Real Estate world.
I started using it last year on my mobile when I needed to look up something quick when I was out. It's easier than logging into MLS on my phone. It's legit.
