1 stick unsalted butter
1 C self-rising flour
1 C sugar
1 C milk
1-2 cans strawberry pie filling

Preheat oven to 375

Melt butter in square or round cake pan, swirl around on all sides and set aside.

Mix milk, sugar and flour until lightly blended. Pour batter into the pan. Dump the contents of one of the canned pie fillings in the center of batter and the other one spread oujt a bit toward the edges.

Bake 40-45 minutes until edges are deep golden-brown. Serve warm or hot with chocolate ice cream and a glass of cold milk.

Looks good, but why the choc. ice cream ? Vanilla or strawberry seems like it would work better.

You've never heard of chocolate covered strawberries? Chocolate compliments strawberries very well.

I've made this with other pie fillings. I like blueberries, my daughter likes peach and boys like apple or cherry. Instead of self rising flour, you can use a cup of all purpose flour plus 1 TBSP (not tsp) baking powder.

It sounds too easy to be that good---but I will for sure try it. Maybe add fresh fruit to the pie filling.

I asked on another forum for the easiest dessert recipe ever and this is what someone came up with. I tried it that day and it is that easy.
