Just the visual of biting into Crisco and the smell along would get my gag reflexes going.
Here is a recipe I still make. I don't eat it but my (skinny) hubbie can't get enough
Sausage Casserole
1 1/2 pkg sausages (links or regular)
about 5 potatoes sliced and par boiled
small package velveeta
bag of broccoli florets half cooked
1 small onion
2-3 T flour
1- 1/2 C milk
bread crumbs
Cook sausage and in the drippings saute the onion....add flour and milk until it starts to bubble
Cut up velveeta and add. Stir until melted.
To that mix add the sausage (cut up) broccoli, potato
Place in casserole dish.
Sprinkle the top with bread crumbs
If you make it early refrigerate.
Put in preheated 300 oven and just bake it until it is golden brown or bubbly.
Can't ya just hear the squishing sound of your arteries clogging????
Oh no. I'm keeping the broccoli and maybe adding some cauliflower along with must have jalapenos. Broccoli and cheese are as good as a squeeze ya know...Yea, I never leave well enough alone. And yes sometimes it gets me in trouble but that's life.
Can't ya make white cake icing with nothing but Crisco and powdered sugar? I think I've had that and my arteries are still working. Anyone ever made it?
Location: Finally made it to Florida and lovin' every minute!

Oh, gosh, I'll try, but a lot of stuff I make by the "guess and by gosh" method.
I boil the macaroni till it's a bit on the al dente side. Meanwhile, I cube up whatever kind of cheese I have on hand. Usually Swiss and Velveeta, then add any shredded I might have like an Italian mix or just plain mozzarella. If I have m. Jack or cheddar, I add some of that. Throw in the hot macaroni, salt and pepper, and (here's my trick) about 1/2 skim milk, half Land o'Lakes fat free half & half. Man, that half and half gives it so much flavor you wouldn't believe, but if you use just that, it's a bit on the dry side. bake at 350 till brown and bubbly (we like the crispy stuff on top). It's simplistic, but really good, IMO.
If you want a measured ingredient recipe for really great creamy mac n cheese, but a box of Wondra in the flour section of the supermarket (it's more of a cylinder, and a light blue color). There is a recipe on there for white sauce - I usually triple or quadruple this depending on how much mac I have - throw in the cheese (I combine white cheddar and velveeta usually) - stir in the mac, pour into a buttered dish, and bake until bubbly. You can vary the recipe by add ins and toppings - I stir in some mustard powder, worchestershire, garlic powder, etc. depending on what we're in the mood for - you can even stir in peas and tuna for a casserole! Toppings like buttered panko crumbs or real bacon bits are family pleasers too.

If I make you a cake you'll never ask for this again
How can you eat something like that? My skin is crawling... yuck

I have seen a lot worse and I will not even think of going there. At least Crisco and sugar are veggie based if you get my drift... It's butter and sugar icing that is not so good to me... To rich for me. I don't eat as many sweets as I like but still a few for the brains sake. It needs simple sugar to function so I have to take care of it ya know...Maybe I had best look up the formula for that white cake icing. I know it has to bad for you with a layer of coconut on top. I still love the stuff. Especially when hiding a devils food layer or two underneath it.

Taken any cake of mine, has no more than a stick of butter in it. And my frosting are based on whip cream, that means even the whip cream is doctored.
I take you are not afraid... because that stuff will catch up with you some day.
