I have two cats, one is 10 and the other is 9, they're my little buddies. They even sleep in bed with me. After I got married my wife adopted another cat from Petsmart so we have three now.

I'm a single guy and I have 3 cats. People give me a hard time about it all the time, but they know I'm straight, just not in a committed relationship.

Something else that surprises people is how friendly and sociable my cats are. They will literally follow a stranger around the house and lay in their lap when they come over. I'm complimented on how nice and well behaved my cats are. A lot of people seem to think that all cats are moody, mean, don't socialize with people often, etc, and are just overall worthless as pets. Not true with all cats.

I'm comfortable with owning cats, I know it doesn't demean my "manhood" at all.

A guy having a cat or cats would be fine with me-
I think we'd get along better than if the guy was a dog owner ('cause I prefer cats to dogs, myself).

Hahaha yeah I'm confused too, that does not make any sense at all.

If my guy liked cats so be it, as long as he doesn't have loads of them then who really cares about trivial things like that.

She said she'd get along better with a guy who had a cat instead of a dog, because she likes cats better.

....I think.

That's it^.

I don't get how my post was confusing.

A dog owner may be more outdoorsy (because you have to walk a dog outside) than a cat owner, for instance-
and I'm not an outdoorsy kind of person, so it seems more likely I'd be compatible with a cat owner.
Plus, I like cats better than dogs for a number of reasons, and if I met a person who liked cats better than dogs, then we'd have that in common.
Shared interests might lead to liking each other (interest in the person with whom one has shared interests).
Doesn't mean I'd get along with all cat owners nor that I wouldn't get along with any dog owners.
