Agreed.

Weird, innit?

People at work act shocked if you pick up the phone or walk over and just TALK to them.

I mean, ping someone to see if they've got a minute to talk, but why on earth carry on an entire conversation over IM, when the person is RIGHT there in the room?

Odd.

It's just another form field, city.

My eldest son is only a year older than you... yanno what his is set to?

Widowed.

It cracks him up.

Pretty much because it's better than listing "single" and then feeling like his friends might think he can't get a date.

He's just busy doing other things right now, and doesn't wanna mess with a relationship.

Yanno?

So, people get a laugh out of it, because they know he's not actually Widowed.

"single" doesn't necessarily mean "unable to get a date"

"single" can also mean "available" or "I prefer to be single"

But in his case, it's obvious that the widowed is a joke.

or single might mean that the person doesnt really care to change it, I know people who have a relationship status of single that are involved, but just don't really care to change it.
