Aren't women who are 'gold diggers' kinda just like prostitutes? Some of them...Especially those who (at least claim to) not like sex, but only do it for money. How is that any different from being a prostitute, except they don't work in a brothel or hang out on street corners. It's just because it's more socially acceptable. In the end, a materialistic dating culture is little different to prostitution, imho, especially where there is little love or equality involved. I'm sure alot of casual sex is because of the sheer enjoyment of sex, of course, but sitcoms etc in particular portray it as women letting men have their way with them for some sort of self-absorbed materialistic benefit on their part (sick of those tired old stereotypes, it only makes the percentage who are like that bigger).
I'm sure that a lot of women are uncomfortable with the current reality of this but the problem is that society has changed a lot over the past 50 years and reality has a nasty way of sneaking up on you and biting one on the rear.
The fact is, nearly all desirable men now expect this treatment. In many cases they use their desirability for their advantage, with no real long term interest either.
However, the competition is so feirce that there is little hope for most women if she isn't willing to play the new game and things are only marginally better if she does.
Of course, in 20 years she may be very happy she didn't play the game. Her mother or aunt know this and have probably tried to direct her efforts in that direction, but they seldom have any success. Guys call it the "kiss of death".
We bat our eyelashes, dress a little provacative, give him something good... and in return we get what we asked for. Does that make us prostitutes? No, it makes us smart LOL
You're right. Also, a man can just swing a wad of money in front of a woman, show his sporty sexy luxurious car, have her find out about his job and position, etc. and lure her to his bedroom hypnotized.

A prostitute has sex for money. A gold-digger is materialistic.
A prostitute is not necessarily a gold-digger. A gold-digger is not necessarily a prostitute.
If anyone has sex for money and it doesn't matter if they love it or not, they are a prostitute.
If a woman only spends time with you because you're rich or influential and she believes she will receive something from it, that's a gold digger and they're usually narcissists also.
Do not allow television sit-coms which are scripted entertainment, or the media manipulate you into believing that "women like this, or women like that". You need to keep in mind who is writing that sit-com and what purpose do they have in portraying women in that manner.
I think popular media and culture would like to give men the perception that women are prostitutes. It's easy to see why you might believe that because of how women are portrayed on television/film. There may be a subliminal message getting through that you're absorbing and you have no idea why. Think about the culture shift going on in the world right now and how gender roles are being twisted and confused. Examine that thought.

I particularly hate to see women flippantly calling others "prostitutes". All they are doing is feeding into misogynist, women-bashing culture.
LuckyGem,
Prostitution is actually anything exchanged for sex. It is known that a street prostitute does it for cash and/or drugs. Take a goldigger who is with men because of the fancy expensive elegant dinners they feed her with, how she's showered with expensive gifts, taken around the world on vacations, taken out for entertainment, etc. And all she does is show up and have sex later on along the road or whenever. Let's see here, she enjoys all the freebies and all she gives is sex. I think you get the idea.
Well let's put it this way. Men are active participants in these scenarios.
Sure, some women want security/luxury and will have sex without loving the guy. It happens on occasion. But the guys who are shelling out the gifts aren't blind. They know. They are using the woman for sex/trophy just as much as she is using him for money/stuff. Sounds like a pretty sad situation but if it floats their boats and works for them...

Reason why its a bit confusing how the law considers wrong to have to consenting adults decide to do a cash transaction for sex (street prostitution) while you have other girls do the same in more, say, presentable scenarios (fancy/elegant/acceptable/traditional prostitution).

At that point, he probably can't keep his hands off. (Men are such sluts. SO easy.) She'll have to light a stick of dynamite under him to make him leave!

Sure, it MAY happen but this goldigging/prostitution behavior is more commonly seen with women.

This, based on your vast experience dating men. Didn't know you were bisexual.
