i've had it with cracklins, and with bacon, but sausage is a new one for me. i prefer it with with a little bit of sour cream baked in, not all that hog fat.

sounds really tasty... though, i'm not tryin to give my relatives a heart attack.

Nope. Sugar ruins it. It won't be fit to be a cannibal's snack.

Why would anyone put sugar in dressing anyway?

I thought this recipe was going to call for Jack Daniels.

1. Cook cornbread as directed (except sugar. No sugar. Don't even think of putting sugar in it)
2. Take a drink of JD
3. In a large skilled, cook sausage until done but not too brown
4. Take a drink of JD
6. Remove sausage with slotted spoon, then cook vegetables in the drippings
7. Take a drink of JD
..........

That helps, too! Unless, of course, you're a belligerent drunk. Then forget what I said about this dressing creating a sense of harmony throughout the house.
