From what I've gathered, they can make anywhere from 150k to 200k a year. The males 40k a year.
I would think your sex life would suck as a porn star....?????
Though some of the female port stars you thin would be a little smarter than to sell themselves short on the camera...might be good money but there went your morals...unless you had none to start with.
Anyone ever known of someone who worked in porn? Did they report to enjoy it? or was it "just a job"?
I don't know any porn stars but I do know 2 people who were male escorts. Both of them saw it as just a job; a service they were being payed for. Both said it was extremely stressful. They said the money was good but you have to have sex with people who are physically unattractive. Plus business dries up after you lose you 20-something cuteness and your left with little skill or education other than entertaining adults with sex. It's a rough life, even if your a high paid escort. I don't recommend it.
As much (or as little) as other people enjoy theirs.

Well, we apparently already know your viewpoint but yes, I've had an acquaintance with a dozen or so, been friends with several.
Some enjoyed it, some didn't; to some, it was just a job; to others, a lifestyle. As in all other career fields.
Look, they're humans. They're subject to the same soaring heights and loathsome depths as the rest of us - don't treat them like an exhibit at the zoo.

Having been involved with escort work many, many moons ago I can say the same thing I did for Deez Nuttz - it all depends upon talent and Fate. Yes, it can be a difficult life if you're not suited to it; usually you find that out before long. If you don't, you have more pressing issues than simply escorting.
Many escorts are college-educated; many others attend college as they work. Your customers are not always physically unappealing.
You will have good ones and bad ones. Dumb ones, smart ones. Ones that succeed, ones that crash. Like you would find in any other career field.
Yes, for the most part. Most of them could get an office job somewhere or other place just based on their looks. Most of the real popular ones aren't stupid. They do it for the money and fame.
Secondly, I heard that the stars, the top of the line ones, get to choose which guys they have sex with in the industry. That is why you don't see ugly out of shape dudes in the scenes with the hot OO and (I). So yea, they probably don't mind having sex with people they find attractive. I'm sure there are some who don't have the luxury to choose the male talent though. I think it would be much more realistic for most guys if the guys in the scenes were normal guys who didn't have six packs.

I believe they get paid per scene... so it will vary greatly on how many scenes and how much offered for which scenes..

Exactly. A couple of girls I went to high school with ended up in the porn business, and I've subsequently been introduced to some of their colleagues. They run the gamut of every type of person you can imagine.
I guess sometimes I kinda wonder, if these female adult film stars ever thought at the time, when they were younger girls with all kinds of hopes and dreams of being loved, treasured, and successful in the future, ever seriously imagined they would end up in their designated career areas.
I have heard it said, that being in the adult industry, can totally kill a girl's sense of basic femininity, beyond repair. My own personal opinion is that the adult entertainment industry is 100% demeaning, dehumanizing, and insulting to the female gender, and that it makes a mockery, of the whole concept of real romantic love.
I think they lie to themselves that they looooooveeee sex when in reality a) it probably gets kinda boring and b) they feel like they have to prove their societal and personal worth later on, even if nobody is necessarily judging them. There is always some sort of psychological stress from being in such a field. And people deal with it via various defense mechanisms i.e. denial, intellectualization, etc. Exception are pinup models who only pose but have sexual boundaries.
Most girls I know who are very slvtty (but not necessarily pornstars) complain that all they are innocent in love, and all they want is to be loved by a good man... yet they keep spreading their legs for all the nasty doods. Whatever... and the rest of them just say that taking sexual freedom its a part of female power, and the rest of the females who aren't experiencing all these men are doing themselves a disservice. Again, whatever they need to think to feel better about themselves.
I'm sure some of them like it but I doubt all do. Shauna Grant didn't care for it too much. She was a star on the rise in the early 80s. Then she got into drugs and killed herself. There was an informative Frontline special about her life. The folks that worked with her said she didn't enjoy it.

I don't know anyone who did porn movies, but I do know a woman who posed for Playboy and another who was a stripper, something you wouldn't pick up on just in watching them go about their day-to-day lives. But I can tell you that both were emotional basketcases. I doubt it was posing/stripping that made them basketcases; rather, I suspect their basketcasery desensitized them to becoming a pin-up/stripper.
I have known escorts and I mean many. The majority tell you things you probably do not want to hear. But its what happens when you get into a conversation with them. If they find you somewhat physically appearing they will have sex with you. But there are times that some of the girls ACT up with a guy they don't like. They will try to take as much money from him while still denying him sex. It happens frequently by some of the girls I have talked with.
But honestly, I do not recommend a job in the sex industry. It gets boring and really sex is boring. After awhile you learn that you never enjoyed sex. But are doing it for some stupid reason. Like loneliness, money, etc. The person will come to and realize the act as nothing. And I think that is a good lose to have.
