Ah, the companion thread to "are southern women different than northern women". Discuss? Jeebus.

Yes they're very different. West Coast women are way over there, and East Coast women are way over here. Or vice versa. Flip it 90 degrees to answer the other thread.

Next question?

Now that would be on average. But were you taking into account just distance in a straight line or using actual roads?

If we're doing roads, then we need to take each state on the west coast with each state on the east coast into account, get the mean for each state by taking the outermost cities with the innermost cities. Of course then we can mix and match the outermost cities with the innermost cities and vice versa.

Then once we're done with that, we can take the time of year into account as well. Winter brings snow and will slow down driving. However summer brings nice days and people will be looking at the scenery. Then we need to also incorporate bathroom breaks as well as eating and sleeping. This will add on mileage and time.

I just googled it. The 2200 is the minimum straight line from San Diego to Florida.

But are you considering only State-maintained roads, or are you also including local ones? If so, do unincorporated townships qualify for state aid in that maintenance?

As for seasonal considerations - since the discovery of the 13th astrological sign, our Earth has tilted 28 degrees off its axis. This explains such things as increased flooding and why my coffee mug keeps sliding off the desk. I would think this would also effect the distances involved, seeing as how traveling West to East is now twice as quick as East to West since you're going downhill.
