I'm an ER RN. I've been an RN for many years, this is the third country I have worked in. The US is tough, people are very self centred and demanding.
I am sorry you feel discontent. It's hard, you work hard, you do the right thing, yet somehow you always feel screwed by other people.
My mom and my sister were also RNs although my sister has now gone to NP which seems like a misnomer because all she seems to do now is paperwork. Some of us know how hard you work
If you are going overseas, you are probably going to need shots.
Haha, that picture reminds me of one time I was outside a lab and there were 2 elderly folks outside waiting to be called in for some blood work. I was feeling prankish that day and pissed off the nurse on duty. Then I saw the elderly couple and couldn't resist to tell them that the nurses were going to take out about a gallon of their blood with huge needles and then put it in the refrigerator where they would all take a sip once in a while to keep their energy levels up. They were cracking up and the nurse kept giving me dirty looks cause she thought I was talking about her.

Thanks, guys. I have been resting as much as possible and when it hurts, I take an advil with my antibiotics. Today wasn't so bad. I hope this means the medicine is taking its effect.

Hurry up and get well, or Nurse Ratched will have to make a house call. Be warned! She will be armed.
As many here know, I don't have a car anymore. So I often walk to the grocery store or wherever I am going. The other day I was coming back from a run to the grocery store and passed a church where they have members who have had drug problems and other kinds of problems in the past. I always go through there cause it's the clearest shortcut. So as I'm walking home, this lady comes up to me with 2 of her friends and starts talking to me. Then they ask if they can pray for me. So I'm like, sure, the more good energy directed towards me the better. So she starts praying and after that we get to talking. She tells me, " We've seen you walking here a few times now. We used to have problems, too. All of us used to have problems." So it dawns on me that these sweet ladies think I am a hooker, bless their heart. And I tell them, "I was just coming from Walgreens." They don't seem to believe me, but continue to invite me to their church.
I thought this was very funny, I don't know why.
