I would not say that, some of the flavors are quite good. My preference is for french roast which for those available are not so good. And I enjoy the ritual, I like smelling my coffee steeping. You have to remember I'm old an pathetic and enjoy such small moments. lol

To be fair I have one in the pilot house on the boat. It saves running down two stories to get a cup of coffee and its tough to beat the instant gratification, convenience, and no mess properties of the unit.

It's true, this coffee maker is definitely for lazy people like me.

Why would someone in his 40s willingly visit his dad when he doesn't want to?

Because he is his dad. You are not young enough that you would not know this answer. Your parents are your parents even when they irritate you; most people don't just write them off because they are in their 40s. People do many things they don't want to out of obligation, duty, or just habit.

I just think a 40 something has his own busy schedule and wouldn't go out of his way to visit his dad if he doesn't want to.

My parents are in their 40s and they enjoy visiting their parents (my grandparents)

But there are plenty of 40 somethings (and younger) that write their parents off

Maybe but those are not people I would choose to hang around. Neither are people who think their parents owe them something once they get 18 just because they are their parents.
