On a fire the other day, a grass fire, we wear different gear better suited to that type of firefighting, and leather boots with good tread for the terrain we might face. I scorched the bottom of my pants. Whoops I think I got a little bit warm, in fact rubber for my goggles was starting to get really soft.
years ago one of the local stations decided to spiff up the weather team with a catchy acronym (i'm not making this up): first alert reaction team
