Married 47 years , one year out of college. I wanted to make sure I had a job before getting married. We have had some great times and some not so great. However, we chose to stay together dealing with chronic illness and other problems. Our Christian faith has been a binding force through hard times. If I could roll the clock back, I would have done a lot of things differently.
Wow lots of people my age (early 50s-late 40s) who have been married about same amount of time I have. I’ve been married 29 years....happy most of the time. We did fight a lot when we were young but we made up a lot too LOL. Good to see marriage is still strong in our generation.
We've been married 26 years, happily for the first six. The last 20 have been a real struggle and TBH, I'm at the point of giving up and it breaks my heart. Mental illness is no joke.
Happily unmarried to my SO for 12 years now. We haven't been committed the whole time; we've both been divorced and took things very slowly.
