No, I mean I really do volunteer. I have a teaching degree, but instead of working in the school for a paycheck, I volunteer. I work in the library, work the bookfair, do some fundraising, teach small groups..etc.
It allows me the freedom to come and go as I need. The kids are all in school now but after school is our chaos so I cannot be tied to a job beyond 3pm.
I wouldn't mind going back to school for nursing though, we just do not have the funds right now.
Cool with the volunteer thing. The bolded part was what I was thinking... it's good you're home for them after school.

Yup, I kind of need to be here...I'm the taxi! They play all kinds of sports and we spend a lot of time in the car going to and from practices and games.
But, when they get to the pre-teen and teen years I really do feel as though a parent at home is the best situation...it's those years where they will need the most direction.
We have all wood on our lower level...can you use it on wood?
Still...it's not so much pushing the mop but moving all the furniture and then moving it back, fighting with the dog (he LOVES to lick cleaners for some reason) and it's just the entire lower level of the house, so it's a chore.
But...feel free to come over and do them for me and I'll have a slice of cheesecake waiting for you.
It's such a shame they never perfected the Roomba...I bought it twice and it would work for a couple of weeks and then just die!! I had all tile and wood floors downstairs and it was great while it lasted!!
I went over a year without a regular job, IE: a regular commute. I used to work for a company that sent me out to do work for companies. I didn't like it. When I found a steady job I was excited, but man it still sucks lol.
I was unemployed for a year before I started working for the ass-clowns I work for now. I had planned to seek other work this year when the stink bomb was dropped.
