Alert: new trend for couples -- 'Man-gagement rings!' Basically the guy wear an engagement ring, the same time as his fiancee until they're both married. So what do you all think of this?
I do a lot of work with my hands, and after a bad experience of almost losing a finger, I don't wear jewellery. It would have to be a no from me on practical terms, but I'm not against it in principle
Maybe more of a could not than would not.
My fiancee works with her hands too, so doesn't want an engagement ring for that reason.
We've already discussed wedding rings, and decided that although we'll have them for the ceremony, they'll only be symbolic, and neither of us will wear them afterward.
Just the neologism "man-gagement" makes me want to punch something.
GOD ME TOO. Any word that is twisted to include the word "man" in it as a way to describe a gender switch of some sort is something I will go out of my way to avoid having, doing, or even talking about.
just call it an engagement ring, leave out the "man"....here some men wear them, they're basically plain and metallic with some inscription inside...not at all like the dainty women's versions..
I don't see how a man wearing a ring while he is engaged is much different than a man wearing a ring after he's married.
but seriously, don't call it that!!!
